All Animal Science students are encouraged to participate in an internship during their coursework at the University of Maryland.

Internships Available

Spring Hill Farm: Spring/Summer help with breeding and foaling.

Full Moon Farm: Stable management and riding instruction.

Holly Point Equestrian Center: Business operations and stable management.

Rock Creek Park Horse Center: General barn duties.

Private Country Club: Summer hunt seat instruction and general barn duties.

Peterson & Smith Equine Hospital: Hospital, equine reproduction, and ambulatory departments.

Chronicle of the Horse: Editorial staff.

Roughing It Day Camp: Horse programs site supervisors, Farm camp manager, Instructors.

Green Mountain Horse Association: Event planning and operation.

Hilltop Farm: Reproduction and/or horse care.

The Natural Gait: Improve your horsemanship skills, 3 to 6 month internship.

Hunt Cap Horse Shows: Horse show management and course design.

Small Sport Morgan breeding farm: Morning barn manager.
