EQUINE EXTENSION & OUTREACH

Horses are an important part of Maryland's agriculture, both from an economic and rural heritage perspective. Maryland ranks #1 in the U.S. for the number of horses per square mile with an estimated 153,000 horses (American Horse Council, 2005). Maryland Cooperative Extension (MCE) has many excellent educational opportunities to help members of our expanding horse industry to improve the care and performance of their horses. Check out our exciting equine educational programs below or look up the information of one of our MCE faculty who can help answer your horse questions.
